Oh Alexander how could you
With blood build the causeway to Tyre
And burn and lay its foundations to tears
Slain its legitimate population
Who gave the Book its universal alphabet
And the prized Tyrian purple dye
Oh Alexander how could you
Put the torch to Persepolis
Yet could not erase Xerxes the Great from the annals of history
You tried to decimate my voice the East
Then with intimacy you declared in public your love to Hephaestion
But my incarnation the day you laid your eyes on my soul
For I am Bagoas spirit's reflecting your mirror
Then my Alexandria you tried to forge one tolerant empire
But your soul kidnapped by the wings of death to immortality
You left Ptolemy to govern my Alexandria
Your last queen with her two lovers burnt my thoughts again with her lust
Housed in the heart of its famed library
And from you Bush and Cheney took the wrong lead
And laid waste my heritage from Mesopotamia to Pashtun
And now after ten years of utter destruction and decimation
I am asked to feast on democracy of the West
The Sun always rises from the East
And the West always basks in the shadows of its knowledge
